A Journey in Dance

My journey with dance began when I was three, long before I understood passion or purpose. What started as discipline slowly transformed into something deeper - a language through which I found myself. Bharatanatyam became my foundation, teaching me structure, strength, and precision. Kuchipudi opened my heart, giving me expression, freedom, and a place where I truly belonged in the world of dance.

Today, dance is not just an artform for me - it is communication, emotion, devotion, and a space where I feel closest to my inner self.

Bharatanatyam

I began my dance journey at the age of three, and Bharatanatyam was the first style I ever learned. As a small child, I loved jumping around whenever music played — but the discipline and structure of Bharatanatyam felt overwhelming back then. But the moment I truly started loving dance, Bharatanatyam became my first important milestone. It taught me structure, posture, precision, and shaped the foundation of the dancer I am today. I completed both my lower and higher level diploma in Bharatanatyam, and this artform will always hold a special place in my story. Even though I love teaching Bharatanatyam, when it comes to performing, Kuchipudi is where my heart feels the most free.

Kuchipudi

Yes, I started my journey with Bharatanatyam, but somewhere along the way, Kuchipudi found me. I don't even remember when my first class was - it just quietly slipped into my life and made me enjoy dance in a completely new way. Kuchipudi made me feel like I finally belonged in the world of dance. Through this artform, I stepped into the soul of dance - into abhinaya, expression, and the magic of storytelling. It opened a part of me that I didn't know existed. I know I'm still in the early stages of my journey, but what I feel for Kuchipudi... I can't fully explain in words. This is the dance form that makes me crave learning, exploring, discovering, and going deeper. And every time I think I understand it, Kuchipudi fascinates me all over again.
