Ganga Gouri Vilasam
Featured Production (February 2025)
Venue
Vadakkumnathan Temple, Thrissur
Role
Lord Shiva
About the Production
Ganga Gouri Vilasam is a traditional Kuchipudi dance drama, originally scripted by King Kampa Gouda of Karnataka. The narrative explores the emotional conflict between Ganga and Gouri (Parvati), who struggle with possessiveness and rivalry over their beloved Lord Shiva.
The Story
In this production, Shiva stands at the center of the turmoil, urging both his consorts to embrace harmony instead of conflict. Their escalating dispute eventually leads Shiva to make a solemn promise: he will stay away from both of them until they resolve their differences. This act of detachment becomes the turning point, bringing Ganga and Gouri to a truce and restoring peace.
Set against the divine ambience of the Vadakkumnathan Temple, this production beautifully blended emotion, devotion, and classical storytelling, concluding with the triumph of understanding over jealousy.

Role
Apsara (Celestial Dancer)
About the Production
One of the performances closest to my heart is from Nandanar Charitham, a Kuchipudi dance drama that narrates the life and devotion of the Shiva bhakta, Nandanar. This production was beautifully choreographed by Guru Deepa Narayanan Sashindran.
My Role
I performed the role of an Apsara, guiding Nandanar on his final journey towards Lord Shiva. My piece was centered in pranathi - a surrender that invites the audience into the depth of bhakti rasa. It was an experience where movement, emotion, and storytelling came together in a way that felt almost spiritual.
This role allowed me to step beyond technique and enter the world of devotion, guiding the audience through Nandanar's path of faith, surrender, and divine union.
